Cholinesterase (ChE) is a group of enzymes that hydrolyze cholinester. There are two ChE isoenzymes in the blood, namely Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and Butyrylcholinesterase (BChE). Both required process sending nerve signals. The activity these will be decreased by exposure to toxic chemical agents, insecticides such as organophosphates or carbamates, anesthetic drug therapy for Alzheimer’s disease (Donepezil Rivastigmine). Therefore, AChE BChE potential biomarkers suppression increased central peripheral nervous systems. In addition, measurement serum enzyme helps assess liver function, among other parameters. can measured decreasing substrate concentration increasing product concentration. Many methods have been developed measure an enzyme. However, methods, most popular gold standard photometric method based on Thiocholine, which also known Ellman’s method. was according increase yellow color production using photometer endpoint at wavelength (λ) 412 nm. slightly diseases: thyrotoxicosis, schizophrenia, hypertension, acute emotional disturbances, increases 2-3 times normal value nephrotic syndrome. Serum impaired hepatic synthesis, chronic disease, hypoalbumin, after use anticholinesterase drugs. hepatitis, decreases about 30%-50%. A decrease 50%-70% seen cirrhosis carcinoma metastasizes liver.
